3 Golden Rules for Success at Later Living Design
Housing design for later living has plenty of scope to offer better options for the aging population of the UK. Now there is a gap between what the over 55 age group wants and what is on offer.
People are at the centre of everything we do, we foster and nurture a creative and innovative environment in which all excel.
Experience KSAFantastic result at the recent Basingstoke Development Control Committee. Welcome support for our 203-unit urban regeneration project in Winklebury, Basingstoke for Vivid Homes, working in collaboration with John Waterfield at Vivid Homes, Chris Lyons and the team at SLR Consulting, ECE Architects and BoKlok on the modular housing, Hydrock, Turkington Martin, Paul Basham Associates and Ridge.
Placemaking at its finest… The scheme will deliver much needed affordable housing, a revitalised local retail centre, a new medical centre, pre-school, community facility and over 4.5 hectares of accessible green open space with new play area. Incorporating a land assembly across 5 sites (including a previously developed Iron Age Hill Fort), the relationship between open space and built form has been carefully explored to create a harmonious scheme with a real sense of place that will stitch seamlessly into the wider community.
Working with the residents of Winklebury, key stakeholders, Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council and Hampshire County Council, the design team have strived to provide the very best environment where current and future residents can flourish, whilst addressing some of the issues associated with poor 60s & 70s urban design.
A great effort by the entire team and culmination of many years of hard work, well done all...!
