McCarthy & Stone

Detailed Planning Drawings, Construction Drawings, Technical Support

McCarthy & Stone are renowned for their high-quality retirement living apartments. Taking a step from the norm we assisted in constructing 5 distinctive houses to complement their retirement living scheme on a central site in Salisbury. KSA were employed after planning permission was gained for a bungalow, 2 detached houses and 2 coach-house style dwellings. We rationalised the scheme to get best value for money whilst maintaining the finish, quality and design of the houses.

There were various planning conditions to overcome, including the design and style of the bungalow. Being within a Conservation Area and directly adjacent to a Heritage Area, brought a level of complexity to the project. The select pallet of materials and their application within the scheme was of specific importance on this site, for which KSA provided enhanced detailing over and above that typically required for a standard project, to ensure that the quality was delivered on site.

Working closely with McCarthy & Stone throughout the build process, the collaboration with KSA has facilitated the delivery of an architecturally considered scheme built to a high-quality of finish and design. The use of vaulted ceilings in key areas and feature fireplaces makes interesting spaces for people to live in whilst creating an atmosphere of light and intrigue. This has added value to the scheme and enhanced marketability.

At KSA our people is our culture.

People are at the centre of everything we do, we foster and nurture a creative and innovative environment in which all excel.
