Bellevue Road
Replacement of a 1950’s hostel for the homeless which, due to the financial downturn, was ultimately built as 19 general needs & supported flats.
Waterman House in Broadstone for McCarthy & Stone comprises retail units at ground floor with 36 retirement apartments above with associated communal facilities for the over 60's.
This scheme at Broadstone, to deliver the technical design package for a previously consented scheme, was one of our first commissions with McCarthy & Stone. It provided an excellent opportunity for the practice to demonstrate our in-depth knowledge of the elderly living / care sector coupled with the efficiencies expectation of a plc housebuilder. KSA quickly demonstrated that we were up to the task and now operate as one of McCarthy & Stones preferred Architects in the Southern Region.
Waterman House is a £4.2 million contemporary mixed-use scheme for McCarthy & Stone. Consisting of retail units and retirement apartments with associated communal facilities for the over 60s, located in a prominent and desirable location in Broadstone, Dorset.
KSA worked closely with the client and design team to revise an existing planning consent followed by a detailed construction package to successfully provide a new Costa café, renewed Post Office, 11 one bedroom and 25 two-bedroom apartments. Our technical team has been on hand throughout the project, offering both office based and on-site support to ensure the developer could meet their aspirations, successfully completing the scheme within budget and on time in August 2018.
People are at the centre of everything we do, we foster and nurture a creative and innovative environment in which all excel.
As a result of our work at Broadstone and subsequent McCarthy & Stone projects, we were awarded Practice of the Year in 2018 and a commendation in 2019
