The prestigious redevelopment of a prominent Portsmouth location with historic status to create a 56 dwelling residential building sympathetic to its residents and the surrounding environment.
A bespoke scheme of 14 units set in church grounds within a conservation area, comprising 2 flats, 1 renovated coach house and 10 new build affordable houses along with a single storey habitable unit for Worthing Homes Ltd.
KSA was commissioned to create a detailed working drawing package, using pre-approved planning drawings, on behalf of W. Stirland Ltd. who had been appointed to deliver the scheme.
This high-quality development was completed in 2020.
Our technical team have a strong reputation for providing cost effective & buildable solutions for complex sites, whether a KSA original or inherited scheme such as Church House, Tarring. At the outset of the scheme we identified areas of detailing and key junctions which required careful consideration in order to deliver the original architectural intent within budget and in line with warranty provider parameters.
The most challenging element concerned the reconstruction and renovation of a ‘Bungeroosh’ enclosed coach house. Due to the nature of the walls being porous and incredibly brittle, it meant an advanced engineering/waterproofing solution needed to be found and agreed to maintain the original finish, while working to the Conservation Officers’ guidelines.
People are at the centre of everything we do, we foster and nurture a creative and innovative environment in which all excel.
To ensure a smooth and efficient delivery, KSA were on hand at all stages throughout the construction, attending all site meetings where necessary and dealing with any on-site questions as soon as they became evident.
