Replacement of a 1950’s hostel for the homeless which, due to the financial downturn, was ultimately built as 19 general needs & supported flats.
32-unit flatted scheme under permitted development rights office to residential use conversion
KSA were appointed by Titan to secure planning consent for the façade enhancements to the office building. A ‘Change of Use’ from Office to Residential had previously been established for this £2 million scheme through Permitted Development Rights. The existing building was dated and not in keeping with the visually sensitive town centre.
The design solution aimed to rejuvenate the frontage by incorporating contemporary elements and proportions (reflective of recent schemes within the street scene) whilst improving the thermal efficiency of the fabric.
Once planning consent was granted, KSA’s appointment was novated to Wates Living and we were instructed to produce a working drawing package, together with attending site meetings and dealing with any on-site questions that arose throughout the project. This was a complex scheme that sought to deliver bespoke, high-class accommodation within the historic centre of Stafford.
